My Story

Long Story Short:

I have been studying, living, and loving yoga for over 12 years. Since my first time on the mat at 17 years old, yoga has brought me deep peace and self-acceptance in the face of all manner of body-image struggles, depression, and life's general ups and downs. Practicing to me feels like breathing a huge sigh of relief.


I am a 500-hour Certified/Registered Yoga Teacher and am also certified to teach kids' yoga and yin/meditation. I focus on creating safe, accessible, and empowering vinyasa flow and restorative classes that provide whatever space the student needs in that moment. I am also honored to be a part of the 2019-21 Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, studying with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach to hone my meditation teaching skills and bring this powerful practice to as many people as I can.


My intention is for my students to leave class feeling stronger and better equipped to handle the ups and downs of daily life with a little more steadiness and ease. Teaching mindfulness has been a dream of mine since my first class, and it is an honor to bring these practices to others.

Short Story Long:

I found yoga when I was 17 as a college freshwoman and registered for a class called "What is Yoga?" The class broke down the physical and philosophical practice of yoga at a time in my life when I desperately needed the stability and peace this practice offers. We learned the physical practice alongside reading the ancient (and contemporary!) teachings. Learning yoga and its philosophies felt like being reminded of something I knew all along, like a familiar friend.


After 7 years of an on-again-off-again practice mostly at home (big fan of yogadownload.com), I found a new home studio and began a more regular practice - and the results astounded me. I was in the best physical shape of my life, but more importantly I was just better at dealing with life's normal ups and downs. I found all of this space I never knew was in me to approach people and situations with compassion and ease. When that studio announced its first teacher training cohort, I knew it was time to teach. I am so grateful and humbled by the group of people I trained with. The training experience was a game-changer in so many ways for me.

Sharing this practice with others has been a dream of mine since I was 17, and I am grateful and humbled by each individual who comes to my classes. Yoga is so much more than a practice; it's a way of being. I am so passionate about the power of yoga to heal, to inspire, and to empower, and that is what I seek to spread through my classes. I hope to see you in class SOON!
